Nate Thompson, PT, DPT, CSCS, CES, PES, MBA

Nate holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Elon University along with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science/Kinesiology and Master of Business Administration-Leadership from Liberty University. A former collegiate and professional baseball player, Nate was a team captain of the Liberty baseball team and enjoyed a two-year career in professional baseball as a catcher before pursuing his career in physical therapy. He has a passion for working in the orthopedic and sports setting where he uses an individualized, evidenced-based approach to help return his patients to athletic competition or to their everyday activities. His clinical interests include musculoskeletal injuries of all types, particularly upper extremity injuries related to baseball, post-op rehab, and utilizing his love of manual therapy and exercise to maximize patient outcomes. He is also qualified to analyze and improve pitching and hitting performance while minimizing injury risk.

Along with his clinical work, Nate has been a part-time physical therapist for the Texas Rangers over the past two seasons working with their affiliate in Hickory, NC and at spring training in Surprise, AZ. He assisted with both pre and post-game treatments as well as in season rehabilitations of injuries to players throughout the year. In previous years, he has interned with both the New York Mets and Tampa Bay Rays.

While in physical therapy school, Nate was voted as the Clinic Administrator of the student run pro bono clinic at Elon called the HOPE Clinic. He helped oversee the overall growth of the clinic as well as day-to-day operations during his time there to help provide physical therapy services to the underserved in the greater Burlington and Alamance County regions. He was also voted by faculty and staff to receive the Outstanding Service Award for his class in recognition of his service to the community and fellow students during his time at Elon.

Originally from Stoneville, NC, Nate now resides in Lillington, NC with his wife Logan, sons Swisher and Brayden, and daughter Creighton.
